Backwoods Gallery is the result of a 14-day quarantine in Nova Scotia in December 2020. With the help of my older brother, Dylan, who quarantined with me after driving us in from Quebec, we created frames and finished wood blocks to display collage work that I produced during the two-week period. Using repurposed wood and limited access to tools, we explored and experimented with new ways to showcase my collage work.
I also managed to incorporate original digital photos taken on my phone during our ride from Quebec to Nova Scotia into some pieces, while pulling from all sorts of different lost and found print media for other pieces. In both cases, themes of landscape, time, and nature’s changing seasons come into play. Check out the product catalog here.
